Sump Pump Monitors / Flood Detection
It is imperative that customers check their sump pump float monitors and flood detectors that are part of their alarm systems. It has come to our attention that some customers have had these devices fail to notify of high water in the sump hole as expected. In every case where the flood detection device failed to alert – it has been determined that something was physically blocking or preventing the float from properly raising and triggering. Debris in the sump hole, second pumps placed on top of the float, wires, hoses and pipes rubbing on the float have all been found and have caused the high water to not trip the alarm.
DFT is strongly recommending that customers immediately inspect and test their sump pump float monitors to insure uninhibited and proper operation.
